  • HRT Café: A community-maintained educational resource with information about hormone medications, dosing references, and international access. It is informational only and should not replace care from a licensed clinician.
  • APICHA Community Health Center: Provides comprehensive LGBTQ+-affirming healthcare, including gender-affirming hormone therapy, primary care, behavioral health, sexual health services, and case management. APICHA has decades of experience serving transgender and immigrant communities in New York City. 
  • Trans Needle Exchange: A nonprofit mutual aid project that provides free injection supplies for transgender people who use injectable HRT, helping reduce financial barriers and promote safer hormone administration.
  • T.R.A.N. for NY: A trans-led revolutionary action network that connects New York's trans community to free healthcare resources, HRT information, community libraries, public benefits, DIY HRT education, and mutual aid. Their resource hub includes links to providers, harm reduction resources, and community-led support networks.

  • QueerMed: A telehealth-first medical practice providing gender-affirming hormone therapy, ongoing monitoring, lab coordination, and virtual appointments for transgender and nonbinary patients across New York. QueerMed NY
  • Point of Pride: A trans-led nonprofit providing annual HRT access grants, surgery funds, electrolysis support, and free gender-affirming care resources for transgender people facing financial barriers. 
  • Out for Health (Planned Parenthood) — Beyond providing HRT, Out for Health connects trans and nonbinary New Yorkers to support groups, benefits navigation, ID and name change assistance, surgery referrals, and community resources. 
  • QueerMed: A telehealth practice created specifically for transgender and nonbinary people, providing informed-consent HRT, ongoing care, lab coordination, and virtual appointments for patients throughout New York. 

Gender Affirming Care

  • Binders for All: Point of Pride's free chest binder program provides high-quality binders to transgender and nonbinary people who cannot safely or affordably access them.
  • The Voice Lab, Callen-Lorde: Callen-Lorde connects patients with gender-affirming voice therapy and speech-language pathology services to help transgender and nonbinary people develop a voice that aligns with their identity.
  • Mount Sinai Center for Transgender Medicine & Surgery: Offers gender-affirming voice therapy and speech services as part of comprehensive transgender healthcare.
  • Uncle Nat's: A queer-owned, gender-affirming sugaring and laser hair removal studio in Brooklyn with a mutual aid sliding scale specifically for trans people and sex workers. They subsidize care through community donations to make hair removal more accessible. 
  • Queer Trans Project:  A trans-led project distributing free binders, packers, gaffs, gender tape, and affirmation kits through community redistribution.
  • Affirmation Emporium (TQYC): A free gender-affirming closet where trans and queer youth can request binders, clothing, makeup, and other affirmation supplies through community donations.

Legal: 

  • Trans Lifeline Microgrants:  Provides financial assistance to help transgender people cover the costs of legal name changes and updated identity documents, reducing barriers to legal transition.
  • Sylvia Rivera Law Project (SRLP) – Provides free legal services, know-your-rights resources, and advocacy for low-income transgender, intersex, and gender-nonconforming people. SRLP assists with name changes, gender marker updates, identity documents, healthcare access, and discrimination issues.
  • The LGBT Community Center – Legal Services – Connects LGBTQ+ New Yorkers to free or low-cost legal clinics, including assistance with name changes, identity documents, family law, immigration, and discrimination.
  • New York Legal Assistance Group (NYLAG) – Provides free legal services for eligible New Yorkers, including help with legal name changes, identity documents, public benefits, immigration, housing, and employment issues.
  • Lambda Legal Help Desk – Offers legal information and referrals on issues affecting LGBTQ+ people, including gender marker changes, discrimination, healthcare rights, schools, employment, and family law.
  • Legal Name Change Project (NYC) – A volunteer-led initiative that helps transgender and nonbinary New Yorkers navigate the legal name change process through free clinics, one-on-one assistance, and court filing support.
  • New York State DMV – Gender Marker & Name Changes – Official guidance for updating your name and gender marker on a New York State driver's license or non-driver ID. *New York allows self-attestation for gender marker changes without requiring medical documentation.*
