- The Door – A Center of Alternatives – A comprehensive youth services hub for people aged 12–24 offering gender-affirming healthcare, housing support, legal aid, LGBTQ+ programming, education, job training, and free meals. The Door centers low-income, undocumented, LGBTQIA+, and system-impacted youth in all its programming. Walk-ins are welcome at their SoHo center. (door.org)
- Coalition for Immigrant Mental Health (CIMH) – A collective of immigrant-led and immigrant-serving organizations working to make culturally responsive mental health care more accessible. Hosts community forums, support groups, and healing spaces centering immigrants, refugees, and asylum seekers, including trans and queer individuals. Based in NYC with local partnerships. - Callen‑Lorde Community Health Center – Free, inclusive medical, dental, mental-health care, and trans hormone therapy. The HOTT youth van serves ages 13–24.
- Project Sel by Yosel - a mental health support group and resource space for trans and gender non-conforming immigrants at the Center
- Mount Sinai – Center for Transgender Medicine and Surgery (CTMS) – A leading NYC hospital program offering behavioral health services for transgender, gender-expansive, and non-binary individuals. Provides trauma-informed therapy, psychiatric evaluations, and ongoing mental health care as part of an integrated model of care. Accessible via referral or patient intake. (mountsinai.org)
- The Trevor Project – 24/7 crisis support via call, text, or chat. Also includes peer support, research, and mental health resources.
- Trans Lifeline – A peer-operated crisis hotline for trans & GNC folks. U.S.: 877‑565‑8860; Canada: 877‑330‑6366. Also offers microgrants and ID change support.
- 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline – National hotline; LGBTQ+ callers can “press 3” (feature will sunset July 17, 2025).
- National Alliance on Mental Illness of New York City (NAMI NYC) – LGBTQ+ Virtual Support Groups: For LGBTQ+ folks living with mental‑health challenges, meeting 1st & 3rd Thursday evenings online, accessible city‑wide.
- NYC Unity Project – Offers crisis response, peer chat, and access to LGBTQ+ services in schools. View school directory.
- HEAT Program – Provides youth-focused counseling, wellness care, and substance recovery support for LGBTQ+ teens of color.
