Crisis & Mental Health Support

  • The Door – A Center of Alternatives – A comprehensive youth services hub for people aged 12–24 offering gender-affirming healthcare, housing support, legal aid, LGBTQ+ programming, education, job training, and free meals. The Door centers low-income, undocumented, LGBTQIA+, and system-impacted youth in all its programming. Walk-ins are welcome at their SoHo center. (door.org)

  • Coalition for Immigrant Mental Health (CIMH) – A collective of immigrant-led and immigrant-serving organizations working to make culturally responsive mental health care more accessible. Hosts community forums, support groups, and healing spaces centering immigrants, refugees, and asylum seekers, including trans and queer individuals. Based in NYC with local partnerships.   • Project SEL: Project Sel is a mental health support group and resource hub in New York City founded by Yösel Nadik. It connects queer and transgender immigrants to low-cost, language-accessible therapy

  • Manhattan Alternative Wellness Collective – A community of LGBTQ-affirming mental health professionals offering individual and group therapy, especially for trans, polyamorous, and kink-affirming communities.


  • Mount Sinai – Center for Transgender Medicine and Surgery (CTMS) – A leading NYC hospital program offering behavioral health services for transgender, gender-expansive, and non-binary individuals. Provides trauma-informed therapy, psychiatric evaluations, and ongoing mental health care as part of an integrated model of care. Accessible via referral or patient intake. (mountsinai.org)

  • HEAT Program – Provides youth-focused counseling, wellness care, and substance recovery support for LGBTQ+ teens of color.
