Queer Training, Movement, + Sports! 

  • QTStrengthNYC – A coached strength/barbell collective for trans and queer folks, meeting Sunday evenings at CrossFit South Brooklyn. Trauma-informed, slide-scale, all levels welcome.

  • OutBox Gym – A trans-owned Brooklyn fitness gym offering boxing, strength training, open gym, and community classes—including a free weekly class. Centered on queer/trans body safety and empowerment.

  • OUT-FIT (Chelsea / LES) – 100% LGBTQ+-owned functional fitness studio offering personal training, small group sessions, weekly community workouts, and Pride-themed events.

  • Queer Walks & Hikes NYC – Free, transit-accessible group walks and occasional hikes around NYC, open to all queer folks. 

  • Front Runners New York – LGBTQ+ running & triathlon club that also hosts Monday night pool swim sessions for members. 

  • QTBIPOC Walking/Biking Meetups – A loose network of Queer Brown Babes NYC, Queer Brooklyn, and QTBIPOC book or bike groups from r/QueerWomenOfColor listings—excellent stepping stones for organizing inclusive walks, rides, or meetups. 

  • Black Walking Club NYC explicitly centers Black women's collective wellness.

  • Pride Basketball League NYC – New York’s first official LGBTQIA+ basketball league, offering Men’s+, Women’s+, and open divisions with two seasons per year in Brooklyn and Manhattan 

  • Basketdolls (Brooklyn Transfemme Basketball League) – All-trans streetball collective founded in June 2024 in Bushwick, offering streetball pick-up games, skill clinics, and trans-centered player 

  • NYC LGBT Sports Network – A hub connecting LGBTQ+ sports leagues in the tri-state area, including bowling, dodgeball, kickball, softball, hockey, running, volleyball, soccer, wrestling, cycling, dive, and more 

  • New York Ramblers Soccer Club – The world’s first openly gay soccer club (est. 1980), now fully LGBTQ-owned, hosting weekly matches, tournaments, and awarding LGBTQ youth scholarships 

  • Big Apple Softball League (BASL) – A co-ed LGBTQ+ softball league with 30+ teams, two seasons per year, leading one of the nation’s longest-standing queer sports communities 

  • NYC Gay Hockey Association – LGBTQ+ hockey league established in 1999 at Chelsea Piers, offering skill-based tiers and annual inclusive tournaments

  • Gotham Volleyball – One of NYC’s largest LGBTQ+ sports leagues since 1981, offering large-scale spring/fall league play NYC LGBT Sports Network

  • Team New York Aquatics – NYC’s LGBTQ+ masters swim, water polo, and artistic swimming team, welcoming all levels across Manhattan, Brooklyn & the Bronx. Includes open water swims and social events.


  • CRUX LGBTQIA+ Climbing – A community rock-climbing collective hosting “Queer Climb Night” twice monthly at Movement venues in Harlem and Brooklyn.
